Housing Services

Nazareth Housing Services

Housing Services Holy Family Manor
Since 1994, Nazareth Housing Services has helped lower income people obtain and maintain comfortable, adequate housing. We work in partnership with individual donors, foundations and governmental agencies to provide a focused range of housing counseling services related to home repairs and home ownership. Our programs have made a substantial difference for many families and communities.

Homeowner Assistance Program

Housing Services Holy Family Manor A particular emphasis is on helping elderly or disabled homeowners make urgently needed home repairs and improvements. Our experienced housing counselors visit clients in their homes to determine the scope of work needed. We maintain a list of reliable contractors, and, if funding permits, we provide grants to pay for the work. When remaining in the home is no longer a safe option, we encourage and help with planning for alternative housing arrangements.

We link seniors with volunteers to help with home maintenance jobs such as painting or yard work, coordinating the efforts of the Catholic Heart Work Camp in Pittsburgh every summer.

Homebuyer Education and Counseling

Housing Services Pittsburgh - Holy Family Manor

We offer educational seminars and individual pre-closing counseling for first-time homebuyers. These seminars help qualify lower-income participants for financial assistance from various sources and give them an excellent overview of the home buying process.

Default and Delinquency Counseling

We counsel homeowners delinquent on their mortgage payments to help them avoid foreclosure by taking advantage of governmental assistance programs and negotiating with their mortgage holder.

We are approved by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency to provide comprehensive housing counseling.  Counseling is provided at no cost to clients.

We accept tax-deductible donations to support our work.

We participate in the PITTSBURGH GIVES program of the Pittsburgh Foundation. To donate, contact us or go to www.pittsburghfoundation.org.
